BT PodShow launch party at Shoreditch House

Categories: New Media, Marketing, Online PR, Events, Media, News

Two parties. One night. Second stop: The BT PodShow launch party at Shoreditch House.

Shoreditch House is erm… very Shoreditch. Too cool for school, rough around the edges but glam enough for the most fabulous glamonistas.

The perfect place then for BT to launch it’s PodShow website BTPodshow.com.

Who would have thought that one of the UK’s most boring corporate brands would align itself to such a trendy London hang out?

Party goers were “treated” to a collection of video podcasts from the website. The sound of the videos was muted and we listened to the tones of the resident DJ.

Zoe and I missed Alexa Chung’s set as we were too busy people watching at The Hoxton Pony launch, but we did spot a very crazy Alice Dellal and her very EC1 crowd out-trendying (is that a word?) everyone and being the epitome of Hoxton cool.

Visit the BT Podshow website.

Why go to the party if you didn’t want to see what the launch was about?

Oh right...... You just don’t like paying for drinks. Carry on.

@Larry Bong - I am very interested in the BT PodShow, as I am with any exciting new media launch. I guess I wrote from my own ‘selfish’ point of view as I knew what the BT Podshow was about so didn’t need to see the videos projected again. But I suppose there were other people there that didn’t know so they did need to see the video.

Free drink is great and I would guess a lot of people went for just that. If I did, I would have had more than one glass of wine!

Surely the point of the party was to showcase the podcasts, not Alexa Chung’s DJing skills

@alice B - I didn’t get to listen to Alexa Chung’s set, but you are totally right (of course) and I have changed the blog post accordingly.

That’ll teach me to write blog posts at 1am after a night out (and a ‘free drink’)!

You really didn’t miss much. I didn’t even realise she’d been on! the Hot chip guy rocked though. As did the free bar.

Well I read about her set on The Sun’s website http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/article1162672.ece - maybe it was her first time DJing?

1)Hoxton is in N1
2)’DJ-ing’ - not SO sure about that is the right word, perhaps pressing play on an ipod is now called DJ-ing…
3)BT are boring so they tried to inject some ‘kewl’ into their podshow launch...I suspect half the reason people turned up was because it was at Shoreditch House…

Leon - I have more of an issue with you now that you only had one drink! I rinsed the shit out of the bar!

And Alexa Chung s***** a**.

Alexa Chung was awful, free bar was good. It was my dad’s party, and we didn’t even manage to stay past 10pm! Naboo from the mighty boosh was meant to be playing a set in his costume, now that would of been something. Damn BBC and their policy!
