I think that personal style blogs do a lot for brands. Having popular style bloggers write about their daily outfits (without it being an advertorial) and list specific brands is a powerful piece of advertising. These style bloggers, and style websites such as Chictopia, provide inspiration for the audience and help create a desire within the audience to go buy the products they are seeing being worn.

Here here Leon! though I have to say from experience, some brands embrace it whole heartedly, while others really undervalue the potential benefit of such relationships if nurtured correctly.

I agree. Some fashion brands are taking full advantage of the opportunity to get publicity through blogs, other don’t seem to be getting it. Yet!
